Schöneck in Hessen: dispute over shopping trolley – 41-year-old run over

A banal dispute over a shopping cart in Hesse apparently resulted in an attempted homicide. As the police and prosecutors said, a 27-year-old driver ran over and seriously injured his 41-year-old opponent after they had previously clashed in a supermarket.

According to the investigators’ findings, the two men were shopping with their life partners in Schöneck on Saturday evening when they got into a dispute over the shopping carts. After a verbal conflict in the shop, there is said to have been a pushing in the parking lot. The 27-year-old then got into his car and, according to the police, took off with the engine roaring.

Like the authorities informed, apparently he was waiting nearby to match his opponent. When he drove his car out of the parking lot, he followed him to the neighboring town. There the 41-year-old noticed the pursuer in the rearview mirror and got out at an intersection. According to the investigators’ results so far, the 27-year-old also stopped, backed off a few meters and then deliberately drove towards the other man.

This was recorded, hurled over the car roof and remained injured on the sidewalk. The 27-year-old is said to have gotten out to kick him. Then the alleged attacker escaped, but turned up at an police station about an hour later. He was arrested immediately.

A judge suspended the arrest warrant against him for attempted manslaughter on Sunday under strict conditions. The suspect was currently in probation.
