German Chancellor Olaf Scholz spoke with US President-elect Donald Trump and both said they were “ready to work together for the return of peace to Europe”, Berlin announced. “They exchanged views on relations between Germany and the United States and on current geopolitical issues,” said the German Chancellor’s spokesman Steffen Hebestreit. “They also said they were ready to work together for the return of peace to Europe,” he added.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic also had a conversation with Trump last night. In reporting this, the Serbian media quoted Vucic himself, who in a video message posted on his Instagram profile showed himself to be very satisfied with the conversation, in which the strengthening of relations between the two countries in many fields was discussed. The Serbian president told Trump that he believes in a strong partnership with the United States led by him and expressed hope that the president-elect will visit Serbia. Vucic added that he was positively surprised by Trump’s knowledge of Serbia, including its successes in the sporting field. The American president-elect for his part, as reported by Vucic, thanked for the broad support obtained from the Serbian people. The president of the Serbian parliament and former prime minister Ana Brnabic underlined the important significance of this conversation, noting that Vucic was one of the first 15 world political leaders to have spoken with Trump. Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik for his part noted how the conversation with Trump is proof that Vucic is the undisputed leader of the region.
