Together with European Union (EU) partners, Germany will ensure that Ukraine receives weapons and equipment to hold its own and defend itself, Scholz announced in the lower house of parliament in the Bundestag.
“It is especially important to quickly deliver the necessary ammunition to Ukraine. At the European Council, we will decide on the next steps together with our EU partners to ensure a better, uninterrupted supply,” the chancellor emphasized, speaking about the upcoming EU summit next week.
Scholz added that Germany is ready to open its procurement projects to other member states.
EU leaders plan to discuss issues such as competitiveness and energy, as well as the war in Ukraine, at the summit in Brussels.
