Scholarships: Applicants must verify which are the calculators enabled for the exam

The test is set for this Saturday.

Within the framework of the 2023 Call for the Itaipu Binacional University Scholarship Program, the Faculty of Engineering of the National University of Asunción (FIUNA) announced the list of calculators allowed to complete the Mathematics exercises of the Basic Competences Test , set for this Saturday March 11. The list can be downloaded by entering the link https://bit.ly/3IVdSao.

Among the models are mentioned CasioFX 82, 83, 85, 95, 100, 115, 120, 250, 260, 270, 280 and 300, with their respective specifications. In addition, the Casio FX 350, 500, 570, 580 and 992 S models are enabled; just like the Casio FX P401. Sharp EL 506G, 520G, H-Tone and Ronaduo RD 82 MS calculators are also allowed.

Meanwhile, calculators that have the following functions are totally prohibited: programming (they must not be programmable); integrals and derivatives; I factor; solution of equations; graph of equations and matrices.

Among the type of prohibited calculators are FX-570SP X /ES Plus (allows solving systems of linear equations); FX-991SP X / ES Plus (solves systems of linear equations and matrix calculation); FX – 115 ES Plus (carries out matrix calculations).

The Casio models that should not be taken to the exam are the Casio FX 3600 PV (can be programmed and performs integrals); Casio FX 3900 PV (can be programmed and performs integrals); Casio FX 5500 L (works with matrices and equations); and Casio FX 6200 G (performs graphics). Finally, the Sharp 5020 (performs integrals) and the Sharp 556 G (works with systems of equations) are not allowed.

The FIUNA professors who will apply and correct the multiple choice test (with a single correct answer) remarked that on that day the use or carrying of unauthorized or unauthorized calculators will be considered fraud; smart watches and cell phones; headphones; and tablets.

Some 8,100 applicants are qualified to take the skills test, who will bid for one of the university and technical scholarships (2,500 in total) that the National Government, through Itaipu, offers to outstanding and low-income youth in the country.
