Schoeneck. Annick and Jean Tortosa, a golden couple on the occasion of their 50 years of marriage

After their marriage to Schœneck on May 21, 1971, Annick and Jean Tortosa lived in Wiesberg. Since 2003, they have lived on rue Pasteur in Schœneck.

Annick, originally from Nancy, was educated in Lutterbach-Mulhouse. When she was 10, she arrived in Schœneck in the family home. She worked as a saleswoman for 15 years at Auchan in Paris until 1996, then in several stores in the region.

Two children

Jean, originally from Creutzberg, had been educated at the Verrerie-Sophie. He passed a CAP in auto electrician and worked at Pierrard. After his military obligations in 1968-1969 in Lons-le-Saunier, he entered in 1973, the school of the gendarmerie in Chaumont. His first assignment was with the Melun mobile gendarmerie squadron.

The Tortosa couple lived there for 20 years. Then, Jean was assigned to Versaille Satory for 6 years. Before the end of the career of Chief Warrant Officer Jean Tortosa in the mobile gendarmerie, the couple still lived for 4 years in Nogent-sur-Marne.

The son, Stéphan, is in the gendarmerie and his wife in the police. The daughter, Céline, filled them with a granddaughter named Louane.

Overseas

Annick and Jean’s journey has been very eventful. There were the barracks, but also the trips: the family traveled three times to Caledonia, Guyana, Martinique, Tahiti and Corsica. In Kosovo, Jean received the combatant card in Opex (external military operation).

In 2003, the couple asserted their right to retire. Since then, Annick and Jean have been enjoying their rest peacefully. Since 2018, Jean Tortosa has been president of the ACVG veterans section of Schœneck.
