This year’s Schlossgrabenfest ended on Sunday (28th) with the best weather. This also ended four days of action for the police.
From the police point of view, the largest inner-city music festival in Hesse, which attracted around 20,000 visitors on the main days, went peacefully.
With the best weather, the visitors celebrated in an exemplary manner, with a few exceptions. Mostly in the late evening hours, the officers had to deal with events typical of the event. received in the overall overview
50 people will be sent off during the festive season. They were noticed all around the event, among other things, because of bullying and heavy alcohol consumption. Four charges were filed for violating the Narcotics Act.
During the course of Sunday, an increased number of visitors in front of the Merck stage could already be observed in the afternoon and in the run-up to the top music act. Around 9 p.m., the police and the rescue workers were increasingly reported to people who complained of circulatory problems.
In close consultation with the organizer, the police and paramedics reacted immediately and medical care was provided immediately. At the same time, the entrance situation was regulated immediately and all entrances were temporarily closed. This made it possible to equalize the crowd. In addition, water was dispensed in the front area of the stage. The number of reports increased steadily. At the end of the stage act at around 10.45 p.m., around 60 people were being treated by the paramedics. In the aftermath and up to the time of this reporting, around 160 people receiving medical care were reported to the police in this context.
According to the current state of knowledge, the health complaints are mostly circulatory problems, which are presumably due to the weather conditions, the long waiting times before the artist’s performance and the number of visitors, mainly in the immediate area in front of the stage.
Another incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the area of the Herrngarten, outside the festival area. A 40-year-old man threw a cup filled with liquid at an officer with his service dog.
When he was subsequently arrested, he put up considerable resistance. According to the current status, he was injured and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
In view of the total number of visitors, which amounted to around 80,000 visitors this year, the total number of criminal offenses can also be described as low this year.
