The KFC Uerdingen will probably have to do without Justin Ospelt for several months. The goalkeeper’s injury is much more serious than originally assumed. As the regional league team announced on Monday, the actual goalkeeper will be absent for several months. The 21-year-old has to have an operation on his knee due to a torn muscle.
Ospelt injured himself in his first season outing in the 1: 3 defeat against Bonner SC and had to be replaced after 43 minutes. Although the goalkeeper missed the previous games, originally such a serious injury was not assumed. Further investigations have now proven this, however, so that the KFC has to do without the Liechtenstein national goalkeeper. Ospelt has already played two international matches wearing his home country Lichtenstein jersey.

It is not surprising that Schlösser justified his move with very positive discussions with coach Dmitry Voronov and sports director Patrick Schneider. But then the Dutchman adds two more arguments that are almost unique features of the KFC in this league. “I saw the support of the fans in the game against Wiedenbrück and felt it firsthand during the game against Aachen,” he reports of goose bumps that he still knows – at least not so much – from his previous footballing career. “And I’ve already seen the big stadium we’re going to return to soon. In the stadium, then, this support, that must be great, ”he thinks ahead.

It’s amazing how a stranger feels how much the evasion into a strange stadium inhibits, what a pound the Grotenburg was and hopefully will be again soon. She has only known Schlösser from the moment the KFC took the photo with which it announced its commitment.

Schlösser, whose market value is currently estimated at 150,000 euros, was born on February 14, 1998 in the Dutch municipality in the province of Limburg near the border. 20 kilometers from Kerkrade, where he was trained and also played football for the past twelve years. One of his coaches was the Kerkrad club legend Eric van de Luer. Well known in Uerdingen because of his coaching time from 2012 to 2014, which also included promotion from the upper to the regional league in 2013. The journey from Kerkrade to Krefeld takes around an hour. “I am very close to the family and I am not planning to move to Krefeld yet,” says Schlösser. But what could change if the desired goals of the rebuilding are achieved and Schlösser succumbs to the charm of a revitalized Grotenburg with its fans.
