Founders have been able to receive a subsidy from the state since 2019 if they set up their own craft business. This so-called “master start-up bonus” can now also be applied for online. Economics Minister Dr. Bernd Buchholz was pleased with the news: “This is one of the Ministry of Economics’ first funding instruments that is now also available digitally.

Step by step to the application

Applicants have two options: Anyone who has an identity card with an online ID function can apply for the premium entirely online. There is no need to sign and submit the documents by post. If you do not yet have an identity card with an online function, you must personally sign the application in the last step and send it to the Schleswig-Holstein Investment Bank.
Start into self-employment
With the master start-up bonus, the state supports start-ups as well as company takeovers and investments with up to 10,000 euros. Since it was launched in June 2019, over 350 applications have been submitted and funds of more than two million euros have been paid out.
