For the next three weeks, trains will run to, via and from Schiphol according to an adjusted timetable due to work. According to NS, the adjustments to the timetable may differ per day.
From tomorrow until December 3, ProRail will be working on the platforms of Schiphol Airport station. Travelers who have to travel through the airport during these weeks are advised to check the travel planner shortly in advance.
No or fewer trains
At certain times, train traffic is completely stopped on some routes. For example, no trains will run between Leiden Central and Schiphol tonight between 1:30 AM and 5:30 AM. The NS then uses express buses.
There will be no direct intercity trains between Amsterdam Central Station and Rotterdam Central Station on the weekend of November 18 and 19. Normally the train stops at the airport, but on that weekend travelers between the two cities will have to rely on regular intercity trains, reports NH News.
On Sunday, December 3, train traffic between Leiden Central Station and Schiphol will be stopped all day and travelers will once again have to rely on buses.
Refurbishment
The work at Schiphol Airport station is part of a major renovation that ProRail will be working on until 2028. In the coming weeks, the track will be raised slightly so that there is no longer a height difference between the train doors and the platform. Parts of the overhead lines are also being replaced.
According to ProRail, passengers may soon suffer from dust and noise pollution due to the work.
