At the age of 22, Patrick Stocklasser was already the fire brigade commander. And thus the youngest in the district.
On January 24th, Stocklasser was elected as the new commander by his comrades from the Scheideldorf fire department. “I originally wanted to take on a different role,” reports the 22-year-old, who was not previously part of the board. However, since the previous commander Hermann Kampf was no longer available for election, Stocklasser finally decided to take over the office. “It’s not easy at the beginning, but you find your way into it,” he says of a new and unfamiliar situation.
Always new challenges
Stocklasser, who was born in August 1998, has been with the fire brigade since he was 15 and is very involved there. In Scheideldorf it is common for all young people to go to the fire brigade. So he himself got there through other comrades. “I have a lot of fun and because of it I keep getting new challenges,” the young commander mentions. Above all, the camaraderie of the fire brigade gives him a lot of pleasure. Since the beginning of his fire service career, Stocklasser has always been there live at the competitions. The FF Scheideldorf is always well represented thanks to its competition group at the state and even federal level.
Stocklasser has already completed a number of training courses and courses. After basic training, he became a group commander and later a platoon commander. In order to be able to hold the post of fire brigade commander, he is still missing a few courses, but if he catches up on these in the coming years, he can still hold the position.
Due to his commitment to the fire brigade, Patrick has already seen a lot, of course not always nice. “It’s not always easy, for example in the case of serious accidents,” admits Scheideldorfer. It is then important to talk about what you have experienced.
Stocklasser is currently at the head of 58 fire brigade members. He also has a number of plans for his period as commander. So changes should happen to the FF house. There are also new respiratory protection and radio devices. Otherwise, too, he has a few little things on his mind, “but the members also have to agree,” says Stocklasser.
On tour with a motorcycle
The young commanding officer is a postman and when he’s not working for the fire brigade, he’s very sporty. Running, swimming and cycling are among his hobbies. He also likes to go out on his motorcycle in summer and is here at the club in Allentsteig.
