The Principality of Asturias continues to fight the coronavirus head-to-head. The increase in infections in the community has led the Executive chaired by Adrián Barbón to tighten the restrictions and has even asked the central government to confine its population to the home. Given the refusal to impose the total restriction of mobility by Health, the Ministry of Health will publish a document with recommendations ranging from self-confinement to the approach of time slots for the walks of the vulnerable people.
In it, the Principality of Asturias has established time slots so that the most vulnerable people –people over 65 years old, dependent people or people with risk pathologies– may go for a walk or do some exercise outdoors and thus avoid “the side effects of home confinement.” These range from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, and from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m..
For their part, the rest of the inhabitants of the Principality will be able to do sport in the public spaces of 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.. These are the same time slots proposed during the last phase 1 of the de-escalation. What’s more, Salud states that “each person could dedicate two hours a day to exercising or going for a walk, individually or accompanied by partners”.
On the other hand, the regional Executive has agreed to maintain the perimeter closure of Asturias and the councils of Oviedo, Gijón and Avilés, “at least”, until the 18th. It should be remembered that on Wednesday another series of restrictive measures came into force, such as the implementation of the curfew schedule at 22.00 hours or the closure of all those non-essential economic activities.
