Schedule for the U-20 National Team in the 4-Country Mini Tournament Starting Friday, 17 February 2023

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Chairman PSSI Mochamad Iriawan said that the international tournament for the U-20 national team on 17-22 February 2023 would be held at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta, or the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium, Bekasi. Only four countries, including Indonesia, participated in this tournament.



“It looks like it will be in Patriot, but we are working on two places including SUGBK. We are still communicating with the management,” said Iriawan at Field A Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

The man who is familiarly called Iwan Bule also hopes that the U-20 National Team can experience the experience of competing from the tournament. Moreover, the competition was attended by countries that were confirmed to be participants in the 2023 U-20 World Cup, namely Indonesia, Guatemala, Fiji and New Zealand.

“So it can be a trial run, seeing the strength of the opponent. Hopefully, Indonesia will be able to make achievements that we can be proud of, not just good at organizing,” said Iriawan.

The U-20 national team needs this international tournament as a trial before leaving for Uzbekistan to take part in the 2023 U-20 Asian Cup which will be held from March 1-18. This competition is also a preparatory event before competing in the 2023 U-20 World Cup which will take place from 20 May to 11 June.



The two major tournaments made PSSI invite the U-20 national teams of Fiji, Guatemala and New Zealand. The three countries have been confirmed to have qualified for 2023 U-20 World Cup. The international tournament will use a semi-competition format, in which all teams will meet and the top ranking will be entitled to win.

February 17, 2023:
New Zealand versus Guatemala
Indonesia versus Fiji

February 19, 2023:
Fiji versus Guatemala
Indonesia versus New Zealand

February 22, 2023:
Fiji versus New Zealand
Indonesia versus Guatemala.
