SRF will be showing «Schawinski» for the last time on March 23. Roger Schawinski’s talk show is discontinued, officially for reasons of economy. However, the media entrepreneur has by no means made his peace with the matter. Saving was never mentioned in advance, says Schawinski. Schawinski doesn’t want to say more. He had to protect the SRF managers from himself. And no, it doesn’t look like he’s going to work for TV again. The Zurich native recently told the Coop newspaper that the spiritual side would become more important again.

However, Roger Schawinski will not disappear into journalistic nirvana. He started a counteroffensive just in March: in the middle of the month he published the book “The Schawinski Method. Recipes for success by a pioneer ». In it, he will explain the reasons for his success in 14 chapters, says Schawinski. «It’s about journalistic and entrepreneurial questions. But also about the attitude with which you should approach the world if you want to be successful. »
The name came to him while watching Netflix. “I love The Kominsky Method with Michael Douglas.” The series is about an actor who turns into an acting coach. He is now at an age when he can act as a mentor, says the 74-year-old, who continues to lead and moderate the radio station Radio 1. “I want to pass on my life experience.”
Russi-Filmer directed Schawinski
On March 19, SRF will also be showing a Schawinski film. The documentary will be shot by Michael Bühler, who has already directed Bernhard Russi. “The author wants to know who I really am and how I did it,” says Schawinski. He has no influence on the production. The film premiered on March 17 at the Zurich Kulturhaus Kosmos. “Hopefully all of my most important companions will be there.”
SRF had just commissioned the film after Schawinski’s spectacular TV career had ended. Is he a comforter from Leutschenbach for Roger Schawinski, who is taken off the television screen unintentionally and abruptly? For him, who, according to SRF director Natalie Wappler, wrote “television history” with his talk and moderated “to the end with unbroken passion, prudence and mischief”? “No idea.
