The Schauspielhaus Graz starts the new season on Saturday, September 7, 2024, with a special program. At 8 p.m. there will be a reading by Thomas Koeck The renowned playwright presents from his work “Chronicle of Ongoing Derailments”. This piece was commissioned by the Schauspielhaus Graz and the Schauspielhaus Wien and will premiere on September 22, 2024 in Graz and on September 26, 2024 in Vienna. After the reading there will be a conversation with Thomas Köck and the Director Marie Buesmoderated by Klaus Kastberger from the Literature House Graz.

Schauspielhaus Graz invites you to warm up

On September 14, 2024, the Graz Schauspielhaus invites you to a “warm-up”. From 1 p.m., visitors can experience the final preparations for the new season at a public dress rehearsal. From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., an interactive tour through the Schauspielhaus offers insights into the work behind the scenes and the upcoming season. The big warm-up show begins at 8 p.m., where the ensemble presents highlights of the season. Afterwards, from 9.15 p.m., there will be a party with the Pop-Band „Wallners“ and DJ Julia Caballera Entry to the party is free.

Several Premiere highlights in September

The premieres on 20 and 21 September 2024 include the Austrian premiere of “My Year of Rest and Relaxation” based on the bestseller by Ottessa Moshfegh and the theatre project “Kafka | Homecoming”, which deals with Franz Kafkas texts. The world premiere of Thomas Köck’s “Chronicle of Ongoing Derailments” will take place on September 22, 2024 as part of a co-production with the Schauspielhaus Wien and in cooperation with the steirischer herbst.
