As reported by the “Hamburger Morgenpost”, Louis Schaub is facing a move from 1. FC Köln to Hamburger SV.
The German second division club has therefore reached agreement with the Bundesliga promoted team about a loan until the end of the season – only the amount of the subsequent purchase option is still open. 1. FC Köln released the ÖFB international Schaub last week from training. The midfielder received permission from the Cologne team to look for a new club.
Lukas Hinterseer and Martin Harnik are two other Austrians playing at the Hanseatic League.
Schaub made nine appearances in the first half of the season near Cologne. The midfielder, who switched from Rapid Vienna to the Rhineland in summer 2018 for around 3.5 million euros, received a goal and a template.
