Stuttgart (dpa) – After the surprise victory of crosser Marcel Meisen last year, the Bora hansgrohe team wants to win the jersey of the German road bike champion. Led by the form-strong Maximilian Schachmann, the best German team is sending Emanuel Buchmann and Pascal Ackermann on the demanding course in Stuttgart today. A total of 185 kilometers and 3000 meters of altitude have to be mastered on a circular course. Meisen, who surprised the favorites at the Sachsenring last year, will probably have no chance. Defending champion Lisa Brennauer is the favorite for women.
