Today, fans of the artist, Nahed Yousry, celebrate her birthday, which falls on February 6, as she was born in 1947.
In this report, we show you information about the late Nahed Yousry:
She is the sister of the author and actress Samia Shoukry, who published a series of novels in serial episodes in Lebanese magazines. Among her films are: “The Traitor, Al-Abit, Little Love, and Crazy Loves.”
– She started acting in small roles and participated in films such as: “The Beach of Fun”, with Hassan Youssef and Najat Al-Saghira, the movie “The Three Prisoners” with Rushdi Abaza and Shams Al-Baroudi, the movie “Adawiya”, with Muhammad Rushdi, and the movie “Women without Tomorrow”.
– Nahed Yousry moved to Beirut in 1970, with the beginning of the renaissance of Lebanese cinema and the emigration of Egyptian artists to Beirut due to the conditions of 1967, and the cessation of artistic activity in Egypt. Short until she became one of the movie stars in Lebanon.
She gained wide fame in the movie The Lady of the Black Moons, starring Hussein Fahmy and Adel Adham, and written and directed by Samir Khoury. Critics blamed the film for scenes of nudity in it, and some countries prevented it from showing.
– In 1974, she suffered a terrible accident that led to the death of a friend accompanying her, and a slight deformity to her face, which made her decide to retire from art.
– She was absent from the art scene after the accident for more than ten years, until she returned in the mid-1980s with films, including: “The Greedy Ones, The Prince, and The Moon Will Not Be Gone.”
She retired from acting again in 1990, and after that, rumors spread that she had disavowed her cinematic experience, but she denied this during her honor in Kuwait in 2010.
– Nahed Yousry’s latest work is the movie “The Disappearance of a Wife”, written and directed by Yassin Ismail Yassin, and it is adapted from the American movie Vanishing Act 1986.
– She conducted a press interview in 2015, during which she appeared in the hijab, and stated that she did not feel remorse for her actions, noting that she was presenting the roles of seduction without embarrassment. She revealed that she had made the pilgrimage to the Sacred House of God 7 times, and had performed the rituals of Umrah 29 times, and indicated that when she got married, she said to her husband: “I am an actress, not the daughter of Al-Shaarawi, and likewise with a swimsuit and nakedness, and there are kisses. Dedicating her life to her home and her husband, she took this step of her own free will and never regretted it, praying to God to forgive her and forbid her body to be burned.
