Scattered High Clouds and Thunderstorms to Impact Bulgaria’s Weather

On the night of Monday, there will be scattered high clouds over almost the entire country. More significant over Western and Northwestern Bulgaria. After midnight, the phenomena over Northwestern Bulgaria will gradually subside. Significant precipitation is expected over Southwestern Bulgaria. A light to moderate easterly wind will blow. Minimum temperatures will remain unchanged and will be between 15° and 17°C. The highest values ​​are expected to be in the plains and around the Danube River – up to 17-19°С, as well as slightly lower – in the mountainous regions and around Sofia – up to 15-16°С.

During the day on Monday it will be mostly sunny and hot. After noon and overnight Monday, under the influence of an approaching cold front, the atmosphere will destabilize. A powerful cumulonimbus cloud will develop and in many places, at first over the mountainous regions, and later also over extreme Northwestern and Western Bulgaria, thunderstorms will break out. There will be conditions for intense and significant amounts of precipitation and hailstones the size of hazelnuts, writes Meteo Balkans. After noon, the wind will shift from the northwest and increase.

The maximum temperatures will be in wide contrast and will be between 27-32°С in North-Western and Western Bulgaria, much hotter up to 34-35°С are expected in South-Eastern and Central Bulgaria.
