Scarlett Johansson and Disney reach an agreement on the lawsuit related to the movie “Black Widow”

American actress Scarlett Johansson and the Walt Disney Company have reached an agreement on the lawsuit related to the film Black Widow, with which the actress had disputed an alleged breach of contract by Disney and lost earnings of tens of millions of dollars.

Johansson at the end of July he had sued to the film company for letting out Black Widow at the same time in cinemas and on the Disney + streaming platform, specifying that under the agreement the film would have to be released exclusively “in at least 1,500 cinemas” for at least 90-120 days. According to some people who knew the details of the contract, Disney’s decision would have prevented Johansson from earning up to $ 50 million (€ 43 million) from the ticket bonuses sold in the hall.

The details of the new agreement have not been disseminated, but the actress and the company have released a joint statement in which they say they are satisfied that they have resolved the matter and that they will continue to work together.
