The security services arrested the famous dancer “Houria” after a report accusing her of broadcasting obscene videos on social media sites during dance parties on the North Coast.
Houria faces accusations of violating family values and principles in Egyptian society, broadcasting indecent videos and pictures, and publishing videos for the purpose of inciting immorality and immorality.
Punishments await the dancer “Horia”
If, after the end of its investigation, the prosecution refers the dancer Houria to trial, it will refer her to the Economic Court that has jurisdiction over “social media” crimes.
Law No. 175 of 2018 criminalizes the crime of violating family values, with a penalty of not less than 6 months imprisonment and a fine of not less than 50,000 pounds and not exceeding 100,000 pounds, or one of these two penalties, according to Article 25 of the law.
As for the penalty for calling for temptation into prostitution, the penalty amounts to imprisonment for a period not exceeding 3 years and a fine not exceeding 100 pounds, “for anyone who announces, by any means of advertising, a call that includes temptation to debauchery or prostitution,” according to Article 14 of Law 10 of 1960.
The crime of publishing indecent video clips is punishable by imprisonment for a period not exceeding two years and a fine not exceeding 10,000 pounds, or one of these two penalties, according to Article 178 of the Penal Code.
The competent investigation authorities began investigating the dancer Houria after she was arrested following a report from the cassation lawyer, Ashraf Farhat.
Farahat told Masrawy on Monday that the arrest of the dancer Houria came as a result of a report submitted by the Community Cleansing Campaign, where the relevant agencies moved after examining the report and were arrested in Cairo.
The author accused Houria of misusing social media and wearing unauthorized dance costumes.
Dancer Houria performed many dance concerts during the last summer season, in the villages and resorts of the North Coast, and her photos and videos spread on social networking sites.
