On February 15, 2024, St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York scandalous funeral service transgender activist Cecilia Gentili writes Guardian.
The New York Times noted that “liturgical images and a photograph near the altar showed Ms. Gentili wearing a halo, surrounded by the Spanish words ‘transvestite’, ‘whore’, ‘blessed’ and ‘mother’ above the text of the 25th Psalm.” . Many mourners, the newspaper reported, came dressed in clothing that included “sparkly miniskirts and halter tops, fishnet stockings, luxurious fur stoles and at least one boa made from what appeared to be $100 bills.” .
One of Gentili’s admirers came to the pulpit and described the deceased as “this whore, this great whore, Saint Cecilia, the mother of all whores,” and also asked him for “strength and courage.”
The archdiocese released a statement saying it had “no idea that our welcome and prayers would be humiliated in such a blasphemous and deceptive manner.” St. Patrick’s Pastor Enrique Salvo said the church did not know Gentili’s background or beliefs when it ordered the service.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that in the United States the authorities took away a child from his parents so that he could become transgender.
