The mother-in-law of Tsalapitsa mayor Ivaylo Danailov – Vanya Kostadinova, was admitted to the hospital after a beating allegedly inflicted by her in-laws.
The argument broke out on Sunday evening after the 30-year-old manager’s wife Hristina caught him cheating. Her mother ran to the in-laws to clarify the situation and a scandal ensued, which turned into a beating.
“He started pushing me and throwing me around the yard. He knocked me to the ground. I felt a crushing pain, I began to beg them to leave me alone. But my mother-in-law, Zlatka, replied that there was nothing wrong with me and that I am an artist”, Kostadinova described the experience to “Trafiknews”. She also says that the mayor’s father and brother threw her out next to the garbage containers.
She was taken to the hospital by ambulance and, according to her, had a broken right collarbone, a broken rib and other injuries. The prosecutor’s office confirmed for “24 hours” that there was an injured woman, but her injuries were yet to be clarified.
The mayor of Tsalapitsa denied having an extramarital affair and explained that he and his wife were together. But he was on bad terms with her mother. However, they say in the village that he had been having an affair with a 16-year-old schoolgirl for some time. “When they say that your sister is a light woman, then prove that you don’t have a sister,” he wrote on Facebook. In his profile on the social network, he introduced himself as a “public figure, loving father and husband, mayor”.
His wife Hristina, who is a dog trainer, is currently in Kosovo for a competition. It was she who caught him in the act with a tracking device, they say in Tsalapitsa.
“Crazy job. I do not want to talk. I didn’t expect. This job came to me like a bolt from the blue. They are talking nonsense,” Danailov, who was re-elected for a second term in the first round, commented to “24 Chasa”.
“My wife and I are together. On Friday we were supposed to celebrate our child’s second birthday with relatives and friends. We were preparing for a holiday, but what happened”, he wonders.
