Scandal in Germany! A spy was revealing space secrets to Russia

The Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Germany has charged a Russian citizen who worked at a German university with espionage.

Detainee Ilnur N. is suspected of passing information to Russian intelligence on European space technology, in particular the Ariana rocket.

Until his detention, he worked as a research associate and researcher at a university in Bavaria, the prosecutor’s office said, without specifying which university it was, reported. The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service contacted Ilnur I. no later than November 2019, after which he agreed to cooperate.

There were regular protests between him and a resident of Germany, to whom the Russian citizen passed information about space developments and the various stages of Ariana’s development. It is believed that the suspect received a total of 2,500 euros for the services.
