“Scandal in Bulgarian Prosecutor’s Office: Calls for Resignation and Urgent Reforms”

There has been a problem in the justice system that has been building for several years, and now we are seeing a small culmination of sorts. This is how the leader of “Movement 21” and a member of the Left, Tatiana Doncheva, described to BNT the scandals in the prosecutor’s office in recent days.

According to her, all participants in them should resign – Ivan Geshev, Borislav Sarafov, Yasen Todorov, and the parliament should urgently fill its quota in the SJC.

Tatiana Doncheva compared the discord between the chief prosecutor Ivan Geshev and his deputy Borislav Sarafov with the times of Nikola Filchev and the murdered Nikolay Kolev.

“Even while Geshev was a prosecutor in the specialized prosecutor’s office, we realized that this boy was not for the job that the puppeteers had assigned him. For two reasons – first, because the policeman is a setup. It is a psycho-profile, emotional, physical, intellectual and mental given , which is adapted to certain places and is very effective, but there are also jobs in justice for which it is not adapted. Now we have made the provision of the prosecutor’s office of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Sarafov and Todorov are from the same group, and Geshev – from the year after them.

When Filchev was the chief prosecutor, Filchev lived in the beret unit because he was afraid that someone somewhere would kill him. A key figure in arranging the intrigue of the state then was Alexey Petrov, who is still active on the subject. When Alexey Petrov appeared at the skating rink, I knew that something was wrong here.

Geshev was first in question. Unlike Filchev, he was under question and even before this was commented on – “Well, this boy, have they looked him over, is he suitable for this job?”. Tsatsarov, Boyko Borisov and Delyan Peevski appointed him. And now they start talking about the people, about honor and dignity.

For three years he couldn’t remember what he was investigating and why he was investigating it – and it wasn’t just about the Barcelona House, it was about dwarves and photovoltaics and other such things.

The fact that we are being pressured from everywhere for changes in the judicial system means that the problem is much bigger than whether they will call a thunderbolt an assassination or if they will call me Israeli Zionists every fifth sentence and think that they will have some international indulgence from this that from this America will give them support – to go to America willy-nilly on private invitations, it is not clear what exactly they are doing and what exactly they are aiming for.

This is the problem – the functioning of the prosecutor’s office is clearly incorrect and must be corrected. The corrections concern several things – the most difficult is the constitution, then the bodies in the judicial system, the filling of the SJC, which the National Assembly must urgently do together with the budget,” said Doncheva.
