The election of the new first deputy of the Verbandsgemeinde (VG) Linz began with a scandal. This had become necessary because of the sudden death of Achim Pohlen (CDU) in April. He was only elected to the post in March. The CDU had proposed Detlef Nonnen (CDU), a member of the City Council of Linz, as the new deputy.
