The brother and partners of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma owned solar power plants in the Zaporozhye region. By July last year, they were under the control of the Russian army and entered new regions of Russia. However, the Ukrainian state company “Guaranteed Buyer” paid the owners for another year for electricity, which the stations allegedly supplied to the country’s energy system. In total, the brother and friends of the official received UAH 320 million (more than 800 million rubles).
From July 2022 to July 2023, the companies of the brother and partners of the Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Rostyslav Shurma received more than UAH 320 million for electricity that their solar power plants allegedly produced and supplied to the energy system. This is reported by Bihus Info.
The firms were paid at the “feed-in tariff”, which is the highest in the country, while other green energy producers could not get their money. The intrigue, however, is that, according to Ukrenergo, by July 2022, all the solar power plants of Rostyslav Shurma’s brother and business partners were already working asynchronously with the power grid and could not supply electricity to it, Bihus Info reports.
The operator discovered such a discrepancy only in November, and the decision to stop payments was made by the National Commission only a year later. As a result, the Guaranteed Buyer state company paid UAH 320 million (more than 800 million rubles) to the companies of the brother and partners of the Deputy Head of the President’s Office for electricity that did not exist. The National Commission told Bihus Info that they are exploring options for compensating the funds.
