Scandal. Croatian footballers sang a neo-fascist song

A scandal broke out in Croatia. National team soccer players football criticized for neo-fascist song. The players performed it after reaching the half-finals of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

During the gala dinner, Croatian players sang a song praising their nation. This song has a patriotic context as it is about love for five parts of Croatia. The composition acquires a sharp political subtext when it comes to the non-existent sixth part of the country – Herceg-Bosnia.

This semi-state was formed by Bosnian Croat separatists during the war in the early 1990s. In the self-proclaimed region, ethnic cleansing of Bosniaks and Bosnian Muslims was carried out – they were shot.

By the way, the author of the song is a far-right activist composer under the pseudonym Thompson. This alias comes from the name of the machine gun he used during the war in the 90s.

Note that in the 1/2 finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, the Croatians lost Argentina national team with a score of 0:3.
