Absenteeism scandal between GERB and “Vazrazhdane”. Boyko Borisov’s party has announced that it will seek its rights in court over Kostadin Kostadinov’s statement. Friday ahead NOVA the leader of “Vazrazhdane” announced that in the 2019 local elections the vote in Varna was manipulated.
On December 2, as an argument against paper voting, Kostadinov cited an example from the 2019 local elections, when it was the leader of “Vazrazhdane” who ran for mayor of Varna.
“After analyzing the election result, I publicly commented and expressed my indignation about the fraudulent vote. The comment of one of the Varna city councilors from the GERB was: “Korav doesn’t play cards. Since you can’t bring lawyers, don’t complain that we stole your votes. What is the chance that in sections where we have supporters, we will win, and in sections where we don’t, we will lose by two to one,” Kostadinov said.
GERB will enforce its rights in court. “This is slander. This means that we have violated the election law. This means that we have falsified the elections, which I do not accept and it is completely normal that in the end we ask for our rights in court,” said GERB deputy Branimir Balachev to NOVA.
Boyko Borisov’s party added that there is no evidence of violations. “In all cases of court recounting of ballots, the election protocols were confirmed as real,” said GERB deputy Slavena Tocheva.
