Scammers Exploit Yuri Shatunov’s Death: Fake Fundraisers for Monument Installation

Scammers are trying to profit from everyone’s grief.

Last year Yuri Shatunov passed away. The death of the ex-soloist of the group “Tender May” came as a shock to Russians. Over 10 thousand people came to see the singer off on his final journey. Fans still cannot recover from the tragedy – attackers decided to take advantage of this.

In honor of Shatunov’s 50th birthday, a beautiful monument by sculptor Victoria Tishchenko appeared on his grave in Moscow. Fans began to talk about the need to place another monument in the performer’s homeland – in Bashkiria. They even launched a fundraiser on social networks to perpetuate the star’s memory.

However, Shatunov’s family denies the installation of a new monument. The widow of the deceased, Svetlana Georgievna, had to speak out. “All the fees that are being held now are fraudulent and have nothing to do with raising funds for the monument,” says the official appeal.
