Arián González Pérez is the name of a Cuban lawyer who resides in Spain and who, after receiving the passport of that nation, exploded against the Cuban dictatorship.
In a text that González Pérez shared through his social networks, he made clear the cost of the document that he just obtained and the period of duration that it has without the need to renew it.
“Today I received my Spanish passport. It had a price of 30 euros with a duration of 10 years. The passport is illustrated in color and has an excellent quality of material and design. Besides that with it you can travel to more than 150 countries without the need for a visa ”, he wrote.
He also regretted that, “however, the Cuban passport, of poor quality in the material used, has a price of 360 euros for 6 years and only serves to enter Cuba, and as long as they do not decide to exile you.”
In passing, he took the opportunity to “call the Cuban authorities by name: SCAMMERS!”
The Cuban passport, one of the most expensive in the world with respect to the income of its beneficiaries, saw a change in its costs in 2021, as a result of the beginning of the monetary system.
With the elimination of the Cuban Convertible Peso (CUC), all those goods and services that were charged in that currency changed their costs, and from day zero of the Monetary and Exchange Unification, their prices are expressed in Cuban Pesos (CUP), the only one currency that remains in legal tender in the country.
