Be careful, the many Blablacar users may be the target of a scam. The carpooling application is indeed facing scam attempts to steal money from customers.
Internet users have thus shared their bad experience on social networks, and others have broadcast the alert. They explain that the scam starts with a fake carpooler who offers a ride at a lower price than the one usually offered. The user who wanted to take advantage of the windfall and who registered then sees the trip canceled at the last moment.
Hello BlaBlaCar! You are repeatedly scammed on your site! Quite a few fake accounts to extract money, not to mention the drivers who wait for the cars to be full if this is not the case, they cancel at the last minute …

Blablacar then reimburses him the amount spent, but the scammer moves on to the second phase of his plan. Thanks to the contact details that he was able to retrieve via the application, he contacts the user via Whatsapp. He tells her that it is a technical error and that the route is still relevant. It immediately sends another message containing a hyperlink, which must be clicked.
Hello @BlaBlaCar_FR for info here is a whatsapp msg that I received from a scammer after trying to reserve a place in his vehicle. I immediately reported the person to your app. In case you are not aware of this scam method. pic.twitter.com/uwUxwRMgV5

The link returns to a site which reproduces in a very realistic way that of Blablacar. However, the thief takes the opportunity to steal the user’s bank details, by making him book the trip again.
All he has to do then is use it to spend his victim’s money.
This company is using software to trick users and embezzle money. The timing and circumstances from a personal experience makes it difficult to shrug off the fact that they are playing victim to outside pepetrators…when they are the perpatrators.
