Poste Italiane is one of the oldest and most deeply rooted in the Italian state since its first development, arrived in the 19th by the Kingdom of Italy: for over 20 years the Poste Italiane SpA group has been established, a diversified corporate structure that operates in various sectors throughout the national territory.
Products such as Bancoposta and Postepay (the latter formally a subsidiary company but “separate” from Poste Italiane), have allowed the group to have a great following also in the economic context, even if this has led to the birth of various forms of scam, albeit not directly connected by Poste Italiane.
Scam alert to the Italian Post Office: this is what is happening
Given their diffusion, Bancoposta and Postepay are often the ideal targets of scams that develop above all through the web. Since the early years, Poste Italiane has constantly reinforced the security services used for electronic payment, especially as regards Postepaywhich is one of the most used tools in our country for online shopping, but scams have found new and increasingly ingenious ways to take root.
It is mainly through the technique of phishing, already very widespread and known since the dawn of the internet, that users are deceived by messages, notifications and emails that simulate official communications from banks and other forms of entities, such as that of the post office.
One of the more recent forms is associated with the formula of Lost Parcel, in the form of a message or email: specifically, the victim is urged to pay a small amount to “unblock” this phantom delivery, following an attached link. Given the increasing number of users who make online purchases it is equally likely to expect a package, which is why this form of phishing it always takes root successfully.
Poste Italiane has repeatedly communicated to immediately trash this form of messages, given that the company does not carry out this form of communications: following the link in the message can compromise the integrity of the device or, even worse, jeopardize our personal data .
