Attempted extortion against a transport company Scafatitwo people arrested. The military of the Carabinieri Group of Annunziata Tower they executed an arrest warrant for criminal suspects issued by the District Anti-Mafia Directorate of Salernoagainst 2 subjects for attempted extortion aggravated by mafia methods and purposes to have facilitated the Camorra clan of the “Drinking fountain”operating at Saint Anthony the Abbot.
The measure arises from an investigation conducted by the Torre Annunziata Investigative Unit, following the complaint filed by a wealthy local businessman in the transport sector, which allowed us to hypothesize that the two suspects, in collaboration with 2 other accomplices detained since last July 29 (since they were arrested in execution of a precautionary custody order issued by the investigating judge of Napoli as they were considered responsible for similar extortion aggravated by the mafia method and with the aim of facilitating the same criminal organisation), attempted to extort, by presenting themselves at the offices of the company based in Scafati, the sum of 250 thousand euros by taking advantage of the intimidating capacity connected to their direct connection to the criminal organisation commonly known as the “Fontanella clan” operating in the neighbouring municipality of Sant’Antonio Abate.
