There are four people under investigation for the death of Vincent DiPalmathe 68 year old worker hit by the collapse of a wall during some work on a house in Vellecca Streeta Scafati. These are the client of the work and three other family members (the father and two brothers of the woman) as they live in the same villa in the rural area of Scafati. This morning the prosecutor Gianluca Caputo of the prosecutor’s office Lower Nocerahead of the investigations, will assign the task of carrying out the autopsy on the body of the 68-year-old retired bricklayer of Saint Mary Charity. On site, on Thursday morning, neither the Carabinieri of the police station Scafati nor the inspectors of the Spasalthe service of theAsl which intervenes in cases of accidents at work, found other workers busy with the work.
The accident
Di Palma, married with three adult children, was hit by some concrete blocks with which he was creating a cavity to isolate the surrounding wall of the house and in particular the rumpus room at around 9:45 last Thursday. A low-cost job that – and this will have to be established by the investigations – does not seem to have respected all the safety measures required for the type of work, especially if we consider that the victim was alone in carrying out the work, without anyone who could have warned of the collapse of the wall and the ground below.
