A week in Gran Canaria! What at first glance looks like a holiday in the Canaries is not. Because in the retreat, for which the SC Potsdam volleyball players departed from Berlin Brandenburg airport on Tuesday, it is important to keep fit in temperatures of almost 30 degrees.
Guillermo Naranjo Hernández came up with the idea. The manager of the second classified, who until recently was the manager of the Romanian national team, knows the island like the back of his hand. After all, he was born in the Canary Islands and lived there until he went to Germany. The 45-year-old personally took care of organizing a three-way tournament with two friendlies (Friday against Heidelberg Volkswagen and Sunday against CV Haris), on-site training facilities and accommodation for his players. In addition, he has also planned a team building measure before returning all together to Germany next week.
Then, in addition to the head coach, Anett Németh will also be part of the game. Because the diagonal striker, who has just qualified for next year’s European Championship with the Hungarian national team, is also on his way to Gran Canaria. After retirement, he returns to Potsdam with the coaches and the team.
