The Kriens play more passes than Winterthur
Morandi and his staff analyzed “that Winterthur doesn’t play that much with the ball, but acts with a very fast shift game forward.” Morandi’s statistical figures show: Winterthur played an average of 400 passes per game in the first four games; Kriens an average of 540 passes in his three games. But for Morandi it is also clear: “Winterthur wants to play for promotion.” So: «We have to be consistent and focused. This is my solution. We don’t have to be afraid. Because we are extremely dangerous in an attack, ”says Morandi.
Perhaps the (previously postponed) game against Wil would have been the better opportunity to gain points. Morandi doesn’t mind. “If we don’t score against Winterthur, we’ll have the next opportunity against Wil.” What Morandi questions critically: “The players are tested for the corona virus every two days. Then why is practically an entire team quarantined in eastern Switzerland if there are three positive cases? Why aren’t the other players just retested? ” This home game against Wil will be rescheduled on Friday, September 3rd (7pm).
Balaruban falls out with a torn ligament
What makes Coach Morandi confident before the tricky task against Winterthur is the successful test appearance this week against the Grasshoppers, which the Zurich team played with some Super League players. Kriens won 4-2, Morandi says: “It was also a good opportunity to give Mark Marleku, Diogo Costa and Pascal Brügger minutes of action, who had previously been injured or ill for a long time.” FCL defense loan Ashvin Balaruban is now out with a torn ligament in his foot for around two months.
