Freiburg (dpa) – One day after goalkeeper Noah Atubolu’s contract was extended, SC Freiburg tied the next U21 national player to itself. Noah Weißhaupt signed a new working paper ahead of time, as the Bundesliga club announced on Friday. As usual, it was agreed not to disclose the contents of the new contract.
“Noah has become an integral part of our team over the past two years. Especially towards the end of the past season, he was able to impress with his playfulness, variability and his technical skills,” said sporting director Jochen Saier. “We now need to build on these achievements with diligence and perseverance.”
Weißhaupt came to the Europa League participant’s football school at the age of ten. The 21-year-old made his professional debut in autumn 2021. Since then he has played 40 competitive games for the Freiburg first team in all competitions.
