Still a lot to do at VfB
After a trial session, one option was to switch to Oberliga club VfB Stuttgart, to which VfB Obertürkheim has transferred and who would also like to get started in women’s football. But there is still a lot of development work to be done. “VfB Stuttgart still has to play an active part,” says father Markus Adamczyk, who was managing director of FV Ingersheim during the successful times under the then manager Klaus Zürn in the district and state league, indicating a lack of professionalism. Zürn now also took part in the talks at SC Freiburg. “Something is emerging, the continuity from the junior to the active area should be strengthened. The second team also works really professionally,” reports Zürn. Rebecca Adamczyk started playing football with the boys at FV Ingersheim, after a brief stint at FSV 08 Bietigheim-Bissingen he switched to FV Löchgau and played there up to the C youth level in the male division. Then followed the change to the B-Juniors in the Oberliga. “When Rebecca started there, Löchgau was bottom of the table, then champion at the end of the season and promoted to the Bundesliga,” says father Adamczyk. After being called up to the Württemberg selection, to the DFB squad with an international perspective and a game in the Bundesliga, Rebecca Adamczyk was injured and was out for eight months. After that, the DFB advised the goalkeeper to play in a higher-class male C youth team. In the summer of 2021, he switched to FSV Waiblingen from the regional league for one season. “There were no problems with the boys,” reports Rebecca Adamzyk. For the father, who was sorely disappointed by the club, “it was a lost year.”
