SBY Asks the Government to Reveal Intellectualist Instructors Demonstrating Rejecting the Job Creation Law

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Chairman of the Upper House Democratic party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) asked the government to reveal intellectualist conductors in the demonstration against Work Creation Act.

SBY said the government needed to explain this to the public so that there would be no suspicion about one another.

“It would be better if (anyone) moves to ride, finance is considered by the state as a crime against the law, and the law must be upheld, it is better to mention it (intellectualist conductor),” said SBY in his official Facebook account, Monday (12/10/2020).

SBY said that if the government did not reveal the intellectualist conductor of the demonstration wave, the government would be considered as delivering false news.

“If not (mentioned intellectualist conductors), later the country will hoax, not good, because we have to trust our government,” he said.

The 6th President of the Republic of Indonesia believes that the statements of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, and the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), regarding intellectualist conductors in the demonstration are not aimed at him.

“My relationship with Pak Airlangga has been good with Pak Luhut. So far, there are no problems with BIN,” he concluded.

Previously it was reported that the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD confirmed that the government would carry out legal proceedings against the perpetrators who rode on demonstrations against the Job Creation Law which ended in chaos.

“Once again, the government will take a firm stance and carry out legal proceedings against all perpetrators and actors who ride on anarchist actions which have taken the form of criminal acts,” Mahfud said in a press conference broadcast by Kompas TV, Thursday (8/10/2020).

Mahfud stated that anarchistic actions by destroying public facilities and physically attacking the security forces are insensitive actions.

Given, currently there is a Covid-19 pandemic situation which also has an impact on the people’s economy.

Mahfud said, if the public is not satisfied with the contents of the Job Creation Law, it is better if they can take it in a constitutional way.

For example, by filing a lawsuit judicial review or a material review of the Job Creation Law at the Constitutional Court (MK).
