SBY admits that his government has many shortcomings: but not cheating on the Constitution

The sixth president of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) confirmed that he had never violated the constitution in his ten years in office.

He made this statement at the launch of the book Journey and Achievements of the United Indonesia Cabinet I (2004-2009) held at the Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, on Thursday (10/10).

As reported detikcom On Friday (11/10), SBY first discussed the work of Samsir Siregar, head of the State Intelligence Agency (BIN) in the United Indonesia Cabinet (KIB).

“Mr. Samsir, you should be proud because when you were the Chairman of BIN, your business was state affairs. The enemies you saw were the enemies of the state. , you searched, not political opponents. This is important. I have to say that“, said SBY.

“That a great achievement. “Of course we have many shortcomings, we have weaknesses, there are some things we cannot do, but we do not cheat on the system, on the foundation, on things that should be on the guidance in the life of the state,” he continued.

SBY remembers his time as president. He said he began his administration amid a series of devastating natural disasters, such as the Aceh tsunami and the Yogyakarta earthquake.

In addition, there are external challenges in the form of skyrocketing global oil prices. Indonesia was also facing the global economic crisis when SBY took office.

SBY admitted that he often had to make unpopular decisions. He doesn’t care if his choice diminishes. SBY only wants the best solution for the country.

He also left a message for Prabowo Subianto who will soon be installed as president. SBY asks Prabowo not to worry if he has to make unpopular decisions in difficult times.
