The SBB plans to build a new bridge over the freight station do not allow Muttenz to rest. So far, the dispute has mainly centered on the successor project, which is not very beneficial for bicycles and pedestrians. Then there is the missing temporary bridge, without which the leisure facilities north of the freight station would be cut off from public traffic during longer phases of the four-year construction period. The SP local parties in Muttenz and Birsfelden have therefore even launched a petition calling for better solutions in both areas.
