Second home match of the championship. And second tie-break for the SB Volley. But, compared to the debut with Terraglio, there is a substantial difference: the epilogue. The girls led by Josh De Salvador, in fact, gave themselves a success of inestimable value: not so much for the ranking – it is still early to sketch out any type of analysis – but for strengthening the certainties of a group that is growing week by week. And who, in the presence of a team still undefeated in Serie C, manages to prevail after two and a half hours of match, and to cope with the absence of two experienced and quality athletes: Nausicaa Maschio, struggling with extra volleyball commitments. And Claudia Fiabane, on the bench only for the honor of signing, following her ankle injury. Taking the stage, then, is a Beatrice Barp with 23 points, supported by captain De Barba, by an effective Consoli in the dual role of central and opposite. And by the entire group.
THEN – The start was uphill, so much so that Martini scored the ace to make it 8-5 for the Paduan team. But the reaction, vehement and immediate, is well photographed by a score of 8-1, closed by De Barba’s winning serve and inspired by 4 points from an unstoppable Beatrice Barp. And the moment De Pizzol even scores with a bagher, it becomes clear that the wave is the right one, despite the comeback attempt of the guest sextet (23-20), thwarted by the lob of the usual “Bibi” Barp. And from De Pizzol’s precise counterattack.
WALL – SB Volley rises to the block in a second set in which, however, it is Colombo who finds greater continuity in every fundamental: two “Monster Blocks” in sequence by Elena Barp and Pombia allow the gap to be closed (and De Barba will place even the overtaking: 15-14), while a new block from De Pizzol is worth yet another draw at 18. Yet another, but also last. Because the end of the set is branded by the Paduans. Everything in balance, then.
VARIATION IN THE CENTER – At the change of ends, coach De Salvador focuses on Silvia Costa in the center and invites Consoli to act as opposite. Even if it is still Colombo who starts the best from the starting blocks: 4-1. But the captain, thanks to two points in sequence, pushes the partial on the desired track. Carlotta is also a winner from 9 meters and the new arrival Costa gives a solid contribution at the net, while Pombia nails the block of 17-9. It seems done, but the visiting team nibbles away one point at a time and takes a lead of -2 (23-21). Consoli and Beatrice Barp will dispel any fears, as they scored the points in the bracket: 25-22.
ONE-WAY TIE-BREAK – It is permissible to lull the idea of snatching the full loot. Except that Colombo has other plans: they cancel the 5-2 home lead at the start and, with a 4-0 break inspired by Cesarini, take a good margin (11-15). De Pizzol returns for Consoli, but the sextet led by Trevisan no longer makes any mistakes and becomes uncatchable: the fifth round is inevitable. And it has only one owner: SB Volley, capable of “splashing” to 11-1 with 5 points from Beatrice Barp and 3 aces from Camilla Consoli capable of shattering the opponent’s reception. SB Volley never looks back: they defeat Colombo on the parquet. And it hooks him up in the rankings.
THE WORD TO BEATRICE – «It was a very, very hard-fought match – says top scorer Beatrice Barp – but we were good at interpreting it. In moments of difficulty, we showed our character. My personal proof? I’m satisfied, but it can be improved. And it applies to all. As for the tie-break, we faced it with a great desire to win and a different mindset compared to the match against Terrraglio. Where can SB Volley go? I want to think high.”
