UAE and Georgia Strengthen Ties with New Progress Projects and Economic Partnership
In a significant step toward deepening bilateral relations,His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan,President of teh UAE,welcomed Georgia’s Prime Minister,Irakli kobakhidze,during his official visit to Abu Dhabi. The meeting also saw the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish development projects in Georgia. The agreement was signed by Mohamed Alabbar, Chairman of Eagle Hills, and Georgian officials, including First Deputy Prime Minister Levan Davitashvili and Adjara’s Prime Minister Tornike Rizhvadze. This initiative is expected to further strengthen economic ties and create opportunities for mutual growth.
The UAE and Georgia have already made significant strides in their economic relationship. In 2022, bilateral non-oil trade reached $468 million, marking a 110% increase from the previous year. Additionally, the UAE accounts for over 63% of Georgia’s trade with Arab countries and is its sixth-largest global investor, with investments exceeding $1 billion by the end of 2021 [[2]].
