The Saxon State Ministry of Justice and for Democracy, Europe and Equality invites you to participate in the first “Saxony-wide action days on neighborhood and languages”. The series of events will take place from September 17 to October 1, 2024 in various locations along the Saxon border with Poland and the Czech Republic.
The aim of the action days is to make neighborhood and language tangible and to raise awareness of the border area as a shared educational and living space. The initiative is aimed at all age groups and aims to break down barriers to understanding and to get to know the lives of neighbors. Daycare centers, schools, adult education centers, clubs, companies, municipalities and other actors are called upon to participate with their own offers. The more diverse the participation, the more visible the lively neighborhood and linguistic diversity will be.
Possible contributions could be, for example:
- On-site events with opportunities to meet people
- Hikes, circus activities, cultural events, readings
- Sports festivals, exhibitions, fire brigade meetings
- Leisure and tourism activities
- Online offers to get to know culture and traditions
Further creative ideas are very welcome and the initiative of the participants is expressly desired. Interested parties can simply enter their offers on the website of the Saxon State Office for Education in Neighbouring Languages. Support and further information can be found under the heading “Information for Contributors” on the website mentioned. There you will also find examples of existing offers for inspiration.
