Dresden (dpa / sn) – Saxony’s schools are to remain open on Monday despite the announced restrictions on road traffic due to the farmers’ protests. “The schools will have to decide, depending on the regional restrictions, to what extent learning time must be arranged at home,” the ministry said on Friday in response to a request from the German Press Agency.
In addition, it must be seen to what extent emergency care for children – especially in primary schools – can be ensured. If students cannot come to class, this should not be a disadvantage for them. The schools should “make moderate decisions” here, it was said.
In protest against the planned cuts in agar subsidies, farmers want to block 95 percent of all motorway entrances in Saxony on Monday. The actions were registered for a period from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., said a spokesman for the “Land Creates Connection” association on Friday.
