The new Heinz Steyer Stadium in Dresden is continuing to take shape. According to the city administration, an LED display now lights up above the entrance.

An LED display is now shining above the entrance to the new Heinz Steyer Stadium in Dresden. According to the city administration, it can display graphics, animations and moving images. The display, which is more than 18 meters long, cost around 62,000 euros. It is also intended to be reminiscent of the old historical scoreboard that is now kept by the Dresden Technical Collections.

Reminder and test for opening

The Heinz Steyer Stadium will be opened on 30 August by Dresden’s mayor Dirk Hilbert (FDP) officially reopened. According to the city, the ceremony also marks the start of an international athletics meeting. It follows the tradition of the Golden Oval, which was held in the Heinz Steyer Stadium from 1984 to 1989. The event is intended to serve as a test for the German Athletics Championships in 2025, for which Dresden will be the host city.
