Dresden Jazz Days will postpone concerts again in 2021

Dresden (dpa / sn) – The Dresden Jazz Days (October 20 to November 21) have to reschedule. Tour cancellations unfortunately made it necessary to postpone the concert again, the organizers announced on Wednesday. In view of the dynamic situation in the corona pandemic, top-class artists refrained from appearing in Europe and Germany as a precaution.

US singer Gregory Porter, the band Dirty Loops from Sweden, the British group Mammal Hands and the Balkan brass band Fanfare Ciocarlia would therefore not come to the Elbe in 2021 either, and their concerts would be postponed to 2022. “Due to constantly changing quarantine regulations and travel restrictions, tours with sometimes daily routes across Europe can no longer be planned,” it said. At this year’s festival under the motto “Jazzt even more!” should be swung, grooved and celebrated live again.

In addition, canceled concerts are to be rescheduled in 2020. According to the current status, US singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, Maceo Parker, American jazz guitarist Mike Stern, Big Daddy Wilson, Al Di Meola and James Carter are expected. Singer Ute Lemper will also be a guest there, as will the Babelsberg Film Orchestra with US singer Curtis Stigers.
