A total of 67 applications for the opening of insolvency proceedings were reported to the district courts in the first quarter of 2022. That was 13.6 percent more than in the same period last year (January to March 2021).
Around 240 jobs were affected by the bankruptcy filings in the first quarter of this year.
A total of 45 procedures were opened. On the other hand, the district courts in the country rejected a good third of the bankruptcy applications from companies for lack of assets, as reported by the State Statistical Office. In relation to the sectors, construction companies and companies from the hospitality industry in particular applied for the opening of insolvency proceedings in the first quarter of this year.

This was followed by companies from trade, the motor vehicle trade and the manufacturing industry.
