Some want nothing more than an end to the mask requirement in Germany. Now they have got their way: From July 16, 2021, under certain conditions, the mask requirement will drop in Saxony. Twitter is not amused about the decision and warns of “rioting Ronnys”.
Some people can’t stand it, others have long got used to it: the corona mask. In Saxony, the mask requirement will be abolished from July 16, 2021 under certain conditions. The decision reaps a shit storm on Twitter.
Saxony does away with the requirement to wear a mask when shopping
In Saxony, the requirement to wear a mask when shopping is to be dropped if the weekly incidence is less than ten. Health Minister Petra Köpping (SPD) announced on Tuesday after the cabinet meeting in Dresden that the regulation will take effect from this Friday (July 16) with the new state ordinance. Mouth and nose protection must still be worn on buses and trains as well as in medical facilities such as hospitals or nursing homes. All districts and cities in the Free State are currently below the threshold of ten new weekly infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Twitter is stunned by the decision to wear a mask
In the social networks one reacts stunned to the step. The hashtag #Sachsen climbed to 3rd place in the Twitter trends within a very short time after it became known. “Oh God! Low incidences! Wow! What do we do now? Saxony: Allow more infections!” Jokes a user and adds: “It is absurd to forego such a minor restriction as the mask requirement in a growth situation. This consolidates the infection rate and leads to more restrictions. “

It is absurd to forego such a minor restriction as the mask requirement in a growth situation. This consolidates the infection process and leads to more restrictions. https://t.co/lRpNEGnLZ0

Saxony abolishes the mask requirement – Twitter is freaking out
“In Saxony it will soon even be dangerous to wear a mask. Works,” tweeted columnist Sibel Schick. Also this one Herr cares about his health. He writes: “I’ll be fully vaccinated at the earliest. In mid-August. I DID NOT BEFORE! Now the state government of @ MPKretschmer is playing with my life until then. May this really bang on your feet.”
“One thought NRW was unreasonable, but Saxony tops that again,” writes another User. And the following user already has an idea of what the near future might look like. Is predicts: “Saxony lifts the mask requirement. August 2021, Michael Kretschmer is completely surprised by Delta. None of this must not be true.”
“Because a few weirdos howl like babies” – Twitter users are critical of the decision
This user doesn’t seem to be enthusiastic either: “Only #Sachsen comes up with the idea. Doesn’t the mask requirement in shops? Why? Because a couple of weirdos howling about the mask like little babies? With all the Ronnys in shops who then cough around again Rumrotzen. It is very appetizing there. ”
For a long time, the Saxons may not even benefit from the lack of a mask requirement. As soon as the incidence rises above ten, the mask requirement applies again.
Really just get the idea #Saxony.
Overturns the mask requirement in shops. What for? Because a couple of weirdos cry like little babies because of the mask?
With all the Ronnys in stores who then cough around, spit around.
It is very appetizing there.

The child puts on the mask while shopping without comment and then often forgets to take it off again. A kid who annoy signs in t-shirts!
But in #Saxony is given in to the running around of adults. Sure, they are vaccinated.

Anyone who wants to lift the mask requirement now has not understood the pandemic to some extent and is accepting the contamination of children in return.#Saxony
