Monday night became a lawyer Tor Kjærvik (70) shot and killed at Røa in Oslo.
There is little evidence of what happened in the quiet neighborhood on Tuesday morning. The silence is only broken by children’s laughter from the kindergarten a few tens of meters away.
The only thing that refers to the drama that took place on Monday night is the chipboard that covers the front door of Tor Kjærvik’s home, and a police tape around the terrace at the back of the apartment.
Background: Lawyer Tor Kjærvik (70) killed
Liv Thorvaldsen lives in the neighborhood herself, and was visiting her daughter some apartments beyond Monday night.
They had finished watching Dagsrevyen, and she went to the window to look at the view.
There she sees Tor Kjærvik coming walking alone.
– The time was probably between 20:10 and 20:30. He came walking up from the garage, walked over to the door and locked himself in, she explains.
Thorvaldsen says that he seemed calm, and that there was nothing about his behavior she reacted to. There were still some details that stuck.
– He went up to the door, looked down into the yellow garbage bag to the right of the entrance, and looked a little over his shoulder before unlocking it.
She has lived here for 40 years, and although she does not want to say she knew Kjærvik, they greeted each other when they met.
– I was perhaps the last to see him, says Thorvaldsen.
